Vintage Yamaha Motorcycles

Vintage 1982 Yamaha YZ250
Yamaha began producing motorcycles in 1955. They started off with simple and inexpensive motorbikes, but have since grown into one of the world's largest motorcycle powerhouses, boasting some of the best motocross bikes on the international market. Yamaha ranks second only to Honda as leader amongst Japanese manufacturers.
Yamaha has a long racing history winning many motorcycle competitions in many different racing classes, such as the supercross championship two years in a row in 2008 and 2009 with the YZ 450F.
Yamaha created innovations that were leading to the modern motocross bike. They were the first motorcycle company to build a production monoshock motocross bike - 1975 for 250 and 400, 1976 for 125 - and one of the first motorcycle companies to have made a water-cooled motocross production bike - 1977 in works bikes, 1981 in off-the-shelf bikes.
